This is an interesting supplement because it really pushes the boundaries when it comes to natural, organic ingredients. Interesting conclusion, we’re not sure this is a pre-workout supplement.
The ingredients are more like a superfood smoothie recipe: a variety of “USDA certified organic” root and fruit powders. While many other supplements use caffeine from a coffee bean source for their natural state, Organic Muscle powder is a blend of decaffeinated ingredients and matcha tea powder.
Matcha tea is a powdered leaf, not a brewed leaf. This seems trivial, but it’s an important thing: tea has a higher caffeine content by weight than coffee, but actual caffeine doesn’t transfer well during brewing. However, the powder provides this supplement with 125mg of caffeine per serving.
If we look at the caffeine content, it is clear that this is a pre-workout supplement. However, the way matcha and caffeine, GABA, and other compounds interact makes it a very different sense of energy. Rather than being the strength and focus seen with coffee, matcha and other tea-based caffeine effects are described as calm and “flat”.
This can actually be a really good experience for work and other times when consistent benefits are required for a few hours. However, it may not be suitable for an instant boost of energy: From this type of matcha powder, you won’t feel as alert as coffee might cheer you up.
Our advice is to use this pre-workout supplement longer than you would use a traditional unnatural or coffee-based supplement. Take one measure 2 hours before training and another one hour before training if possible. This should allow you to get the cumulative effect and experience the “calm height” of matcha.
Other than this ingredient, most things in this supplement are just powdered fruit. It’s great for health, but nothing else here that is likely to improve performance appreciably – at least compared to the creatine and beta-alanine found in Nature’s Pump.

- Natural Energy – natural caffeine from coffee beans is a good start. Caffeine is key to an effective pre-workout supplement. Theanine and tea extracts are beneficial for health and alertness, so this seems to be where all the benefits in terms of strength and performance come from.
This supplement also contains piperine for absorption, which is beneficial for allowing these ingredients to do their job effectively. Overall, there’s not much to distinguish it from Nature’s Pump: there’s just a lot of flashy ingredients with not many benefits.
