Ephedrine, Caffeine, and Aspirin (ECA) and Weight Loss

The use of ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin increased. So is this combination safe and effective? Here is ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin, and everything related to weight loss!

I have mentioned before that individual who wants to lose weight are looking for shortcuts and reviewing fat-burning supplements. Well, is there anyone wondering about the dark side of the business?

The first step towards the dark side is often the combination of ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin.

So is this combination really healthy and effective?

In this article, I examined the combination of ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin (EKA) and its relationship to weight loss from many angles.

If you are ready we go!

Ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin: what exactly?

Ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin have been used for many years. Because in the old days, there were not many options for athletes to lose weight.

In addition, it was necessary to find the most harmful among several effective methods, and one came out that day and suggested this combination. Yes, it worked, but it had certain side effects. Over time, it settled in the world of sports, and was used and engraved in mind.

But unfortunately, it never reached the bottom. Because this combination is dangerous.

In order to explain the situation to you better, we first need to examine these active ingredients one by one.

Ephedrine

Ephedrine is one of several active metabolites originating from a plant called ephedra. When it started to be used as a medicine, it was prescribed to asthma patients. Because it opened the narrowed air sacs.

When it was introduced, it was found that patients were also losing weight and feeling severely “hot”.

The same sensation of fever usually occurs with pseudoephedrine added to flu medicines. The person feels active, restless, and energetic.

This effect is very similar to ephedrine because it literally “fires” you.

When digging deeper, it was seen that ephedrine provided mobilization of fat from adipose tissue and had a thermogenic effect. In addition, due to its stimulating effect, ephedrine is known for its appetite suppression feature in many people.

Effects:

  • It helps fat break down on tissue.
  • It increases the metabolic rate.
  • It reduces appetite.

Side effects and handicaps:

  • It increases blood pressure.
  • It disrupts sleep.
  • It can increase the risk of a heart attack.
  • Since it is a stimulant, it carries an addiction risk.
  • Above certain doses, it is considered as doping ( 2 ).

Caffeine

I guess there is no need to talk too much about caffeine. It is a substance that provides a minimal increase in metabolic rate with a thermogenic effect and serious support in breaking down fats such as ephedrine and giving it to the bloodstream.

It can be taken directly from coffee or used as a supplement.

I explained the benefits and harms of caffeine in detail in the following article. You can review for detailed information.

Effects:

  • It helps to separate fats from the tissue.
  • It slightly increases the metabolic rate.

Side effects:

  • It slightly increases blood pressure.
  • It reduces sleep.
  • There is a slight risk of addiction.

Aspirin

Aspirin, which was the first reason for used as a pain reliever and antipyretic, was later used as a “blood thinner”. This effect is related to the fact that a blood element called a platelet can attach to a point and reduce the risk of forming a clot.

For this reason, regular use is recommended for individuals at risk of many cardiovascular diseases.

Effects:

  • Blood-thinning effect.
  • Painkiller.

Side effects:

  • It increases the risk of bleeding.
  • It can damage the stomach wall.

Now we can talk about why ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin are used together.

Ephedrine is the lead actor. It enables fats to be broken down and metabolized. Increasing the level of noradrenaline is key here. Because the only thing that provides these functions is noradrenaline.

When we add caffeine to the combination, we see that caffeine has a synergistic effect with ephedrine.

Synergistic means that the substances used to increase each other’s effect. In other words, if ephedrine affects 2 units and caffeine 1 unit, the effect that occurs when they are combined becomes more than 3.

So what is aspirin doing here?

The situation is that the release of ephedrine, caffeine, and exercise-induced noradrenaline increases the activity of blood cells that can cause vascular occlusion. This situation may cause vascular occlusion and as a result heart attack in people at risk.

Aspirin, on the other hand, reduces the risk of clot formation in these plugging cells. In addition, there are some studies that mention that aspirin can increase the signal transduction of ephedrine.

In order for aspirin to have sufficient effect, it should be started to be used about a week before ephedrine and caffeine.

Another important point here is that it should never be left.

Are ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin harmful? Can it be used?

You have seen the effects, you know the working mechanism. So, should a combination of ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin be used? Is it really effective?

Ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin help the weight loss process “real” and keep you losing weight. But as a physician, my opinion about usage is that you should not use it.

Because ephedrine, caffeine, and exercise trio can cause serious blood pressure to increase. This increase in blood pressure may cause problems such as vascular tears (dissection), and ballooning (aneurysm) in people with risk. In the case of two, the end is often death!

In addition, the use of such dangerous products to lose weight prevents a healthy diet. As a result, people lose weight but regain it at the speed they give. Because lifestyle has not been formed.

If you don’t like the easy ways and want to lose weight in a healthy way, let me introduce you to my weight loss guide.

You can find all the necessary details there.

Of course, I will not give you the usage, dosage, and other details about ephedrine, caffeine, and aspirin. Because many people read this article and I don’t want them to be harmed.

Therefore, I am writing this article only to inform you and keep away from this combination. Because your health is really valuable!

I am also curious about your opinion. Don’t forget to share it with me via comments.
